Description
Grammatophyllum wallisii is endemic to the Philippines. It grows as an epiphyte, usually on the top of large trees at elevations usually fom to 600 to 900 metres. Big plants are developing 2 different kinds of roots, one kind are similar to the normal epiphytes. The other roots are sharp and spiky, used to collect plant material, falling down from above.
Growth Habit: upright, sympodial
Flower Colour: ivory white with maroon spotting. The labellum is red with yellowish stripes and three pink edges.
- Water twice a week in summer, less in winter
- Warm to intermidiate in cultivation
- Need bright light.
- Fertilize during active growth of the plants.
